A#1;Pickup in is the easiest way, however, if you are some distance from Attalla, "in NE Alabama", then I do fly my puppies to all major airports in the US, Canada, and the Virgin Islands. I ship by Delta Airlines, "Pets First".

A#2;The Anatolian needs to be in a fenced yard if used
for home and family Guardian or a fenced pasture if used as a livestock Protector. They simply want to increase there territory of responsibility.

A#3;The Anatolians are extremely good and careful around children. Expecially with very young babies. When they are very young you have to keep an eye on them because they are so large and in playing can easily knock a child down.

will get twelve different answers. My theory, is that as soon as the puppy is on it's on and independent of the mother, at about six weeks, thirteen to sixteen pounds, Its time to go.

A#5;The most common color of the Anatolian is the fawn, with or without a mask, a brindel, a pinto, and a white. All the above can come in diffetent shades.

A#6;The training period for an Anatolian puppy goes very smoothly indeed. It is and should be a very enjoyable time for trainer and trainee. The Anatolian is noted for its very keen intelligence and its devotion to protect. The training period should go very fast and I'm very confident that it will excel far past the average expectation. I wouldn't recommend sending livestock Guardians through any training classes.

A#7;There is no training required for the puppy to be a "Guardian" for the family. You simply keep the puppy close to the family. The more time you spend with "the new member" of the family, the closer the bond. Every ounce of love and care you show the puppy will be given back many times over and over again.

A#8;If you purchased the puppy from Clear Creek Ranch, It was started on Purina Puppy Chow, soaked in hot water, at the age of two and a half weeks. It should be kept on puppy chow for one year to meet its full growth potential. At the end of this period you should watch closely for hyperness. Gradually start mixing 22% protein adult dog feed (I use Purina Dog Chow) while decreasing the puppy chow untill the one year old is on straignt adult dog chow. Adult working Guardian dogs should never be on high protein feed. Anatolians will also go on a self imposed "FAST" from time to time, eating very little, if anything. This can go on for two or three days. Don't be alarmed with this, if otherwise he acts normal. "This is my personal theory".

A#9;Your puppy will get along fine with the other animals. He will bond with the family and whatever other animals you may have. When he is a little older he will become the dominant one. This is usually settled with a mutual understanding between the animals.
He will protect them from any harm from outside intruders, as he would any family member.

A#11;The Anatolian Shepherds are much more sensitive to anesthesia than most other breeds. Normal dosages of anesthetics should NOT be given to your Anatolian. One-tenth of the normal dose of an anesthetic is frequently all that is required.
